  21. Although I agree with you on the faster CPU, SIMM, (and maybe CD-ROM
  22.  - hm, probably a Q-drive slapped on the side) and reworked
  23. motherboard parts, I think a new Paula ain't gonna happen.

  25. First, I doubt if they have a chip design team already running. Heck,
  26. I doubt they've already got an Amiga chip designer (you don't find
  27. 'em on every street corner...)

  29. Second, a reworked Paula would add to the cost of the 1200+.

  31. Third, Paula is on it's way out for the PowerAmiga generation,
  32. if it's still to be found in some form, then mainly as an option
  33. for compatibility reasons - and for that, you don't want a
  34. heavily reworked chip, which would only be a stop-gap solution for
  35. a good year or so, 'till the PPC-Amiga arrives.

  40. Well, MOST of these improvements will probably be in there  :)

  42. An 040 MHz 030 Amiga with cheap SIMM slots ain't such a bad thing, if
  43. it means the price stays relatively low. And maybe we'll get a few
  44. things patched in Kickstart 3.x in the process :)
